CAKE Tokenomics 3.0
This year, we introduced CAKE Tokenomics 3.0, a major overhaul of our CAKE model aimed at building long-term resilience and real economic value for the PancakeSwap ecosystem. Put briefly, it’s a structural upgrade that positions CAKE as a utility-first asset with built-in scarcity.
Here’s what that means:
- ~4% Annual Deflation Target: Designed to ensure that supply is steadily reduced over time through a combination of burns, revenue allocation, and limited emissions.
- ~20% Total Supply Reduction by 2030: Aims to significantly reduce CAKE’s circulating supply.
- Ongoing Buyback & Burn: Revenue generated from swapping fees and other products like predictions etc is used to buy CAKE from the market and burn it.
We’ve already achieved 24 consecutive months of net CAKE supply reduction, driven by consistent buyback-and-burn activity across the platform. This year, a total of 718M CAKE has been burned which translates to a 4.95% deflation. See our Burn Dashboard here.
