Here’s a recap for those who missed the live AMA on Twitter Spaces on April 13rd on Twitter Spaces.

Our chefs discussed the recent launch of v3, provided more insights on the Q2 roadmap, and answered questions from our community🤝

### Opening Words

**Chef Mochi🧑**:Thanks to everyone who's joined here. I'm excited to discuss Q2's roadmap with everyone and explain what we're doing. This quarter, we'll expand into new products and build on our v3. 

Speaking of v3, it has been an excellent week for liquidity providers and traders on PancakeSwap v3. Trading volumes have already shifted significantly towards v3, even though we're still early in the migration stage.

Trading volumes are rising compared to v2, and we're breaking new highs on Ethereum. It has all around been a major breakthrough for PancakeSwap. While v3 is a little more challenging to understand, we're making great progress with it and look forward to making it easier for all users to join v3.


### Pre-Collected Questions

**Q. Chef Fran 🧉:  What is the development roadmap of Multichain in 2023, and what specific new features and technologies will we see?**

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** There are a lot of new features. The major one I'll highlight is the Position Manager. 

First, we'd like to thank the community for supporting our v3 launch. We understand from community feedback that v3 requires more active management, which may only be for some since a narrow range earning very high APRs may require much effort. Projects we work with too may have certain strategies to manage their liquidity on PancakeSwap. 

Therefore we're building a position manager which will offer certain automation strategies for users who wish to be more hands-free with their liquidity positions on v3. Additionally, this position manager will allow other protocols to provide their strategies to PancakeSwap liquidity providers too, allowing users to choose a variety of different strategies to earn fees and automate their liquidity positions. 

Coming back to the question of "multichain," first of all, we are looking to further expand to some other strong and promising blockchains to capture not only the market but also many great opportunities.

This includes expanding CAKE, especially locked CAKE utilities, which many community members care about. Apart from expansion, we are also exploring the possibility of bringing locked CAKE utility to other blockchains to take advantage of our multichain development.

Overall, we anticipate significant growth in space, providing more great opportunities and places to use your CAKE.

**A. Chef Mochi🧑**: We also want to bring other popular products such as lottery, perpetuals & prediction multichain. This will depend on other blockchains' suitability and user base to host these products and the Kitchen's timeline to continue on its multichain journey.

For new features this quarter, we are also introducing a liquid staking integration and a simple staking integration to allow users to stake single-sided assets for returns, which provides an alternative source of returns to providing liquidity as liquidity providers.


**Q. Chef Fran 🧉: What will the team do for more burning features? When will you cut CAKE emissions? Any plans to decrease CAKE inflation?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:**  In this quarter, our focus is on aggressively managing inflation. We have just put up one proposal which reduces Farm emissions by 32% on Eth and BNB Chain, even though we're also expanding on Ethereum TVL at the same time as BNB Chain. The success of this proposal is due in part to v3, which allows liquidity providers to generate higher LP fee APRs with narrower price ranges.

Firstly, trading volumes have already increased by over 20% with v3, leading to increased revenues and CAKE burn.

Secondly, we are releasing new products this quarter, such as the Position Manager, Liquid Staking integration, and Simple Staking integration. Each of these products will generate additional revenues to burn more CAKE and reward CAKE stakers.

Lastly, we plan to make further aggressive cuts to lower inflation and introduce new ways for CAKE stakers to participate in PancakeSwap's trading volume growth.


**Q. Chef Fran 🧉: Does PancakeSwapv3 has a sdk like Uniswapv3 does?**

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** Since Chef Jojo, our brilliant tech lead, is not here, I'm gonna answer it for him.
All of our code is open source and publicly published on npm or GitHub. We work hard to ensure the best frontend experience, so documentation will come shortly after. Our Frontend Github has a discussion tab, so feel free to ask any technical questions!


**Q. Chef Fran 🧉: The PancakeSquad Telegram Group and its admins have been a long way helpful to everyone in the Pancakeswap community. Are there any plans to make them official?**

**A. Also Chef Fran 🧉:** At PancakeSwap, we highly value the contributions of our community, and the PancakeSquad Telegram and its admins have been a crucial part of our success. They have tirelessly served as strong advocates for our platform, spreading awareness, building local communities, and providing valuable support to our users.

We recognize the immense value that the PancakeSquad Telegram and its admins bring to the PancakeSwap community and appreciate their efforts. If PancakeSwap decides to make them official, we will establish guidelines and provide support to ensure they are well-maintained and aligned with our goals.

We strongly encourage the PancakeSquad to apply as official ambassadors and further help us grow and evolve as a team. As an official ambassador, you'll have access to exclusive benefits such as early access to new features, direct support from our team, and opportunities to collaborate with other community members.

**Q. Chef Fran 🧉:  What is v3 position manager? Is it something like an auto manager? Is it an in-house creation or a partnership with some protocol that does it on top of Pancakeswap?**

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** It's actually everything you've described. I've just mentioned that the v3 Position Manager will allow for automated management of v3 liquidity positions.

However, we are also in talks with protocols that run strategies different from what PancakeSwap offers. Some of them have very interesting trading strategies that go beyond just keeping liquidity in range to earn fees and using other trading signals to optimize profitability for LPs. 

Overall, the room to build and be creative is massive. We will be open and invite as many good position managers as possible to give users the most choices in how they want to provide liquidity. For example, we have the flexibility to handle trading fees or apply clever strategies to maximize farming rewards like CAKE maxi.


**Q. 🧉:  Do I need to migrate If I have CAKE locked in the Locked CAKE Syrup Pool?**

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** NOOO

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** NOOO. You don't need to do so, CAKE pool has not been changed when we upgraded to v3.

**Q. 🧉: What details can you give about the integration with Mobox?**

**A. Chef Mustard 🥞:** Not too many details can be shared at the moment as we are still working on it. But one thing to be sure is that this integration aims to bring more CAKE utility and CAKE burn, and continue to empower our NFT users. 

We will have a beta testing week at the end of April or the beginning of May. Users will be able to participate, play the game in advance, and prepare for the 1st season. The game is easy to play for everybody.


**Q. 🧉: How should an old project that was developed using v2 be handled? Is it necessary to switch the contract from v2 to v3, or is there another alternative?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** There's no need to change contracts. V2 will continue to operate as usual, and we will continue to support projects who wish to use V2. 

However, we do encourage projects and users who want to open their own liquidity pools to try out v3, as v3 allows you to create the exact position in v2 by selecting the ‘full range’ option. There's more flexibility within v3.


**Q. 🧉: Could it be possible to integrate a locking option beyond 52 weeks and offer the possibility of unlocking after 1 year?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:**  This is an interesting idea, and we will review the technical challenges given the current staking structure.

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** We will keep building on top of our CAKE pool, especially with all the exciting new products and multichain deployments. We acknowledge that this product involves locking, so it takes work to do a migration. But rest assured that we've left a good amount of flexibility in it to allow us to expand this into a much larger system.

**Q. 🧉: Do you have any plans to add more locked Staking for popular tokens?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** The liquid staking and simple staking integrations will allow for this.

For LPs, while we do not enforce strict locking of liquidity tokens, we would like to introduce bCAKE across a number of major pairs to favor rewarding long-term CAKE stakers who also provide liquidity which drives trading volume.


**Q. 🧉: Could creating triple or quadruple pools/farms using stableswap, like the Curve pool system, improve liquidity efficiency and potentially increase APY? With triple pooling, would it be possible to experiment with more volatile pools such as CAKE/BNB/USDT, leading to increased usage of CAKE?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** Thanks for the idea. Stableswap against v3 - that's been something we've looked at in the recent quarter as we were upgrading to v3.

While in the two quarters stableswap has launched, it has increased capital efficiency and fee structure against PancakeSwap v2. It is still relatively capital-inefficient compared to v3. Internally, estimates are that stableswap is about 3x less capital efficient than v3. That means we need to incentivize 3x more capital with CAKE emissions. 

Creating a large 3/4 pool would be one use of the CAKE token. But in the longer term, this will cost CAKE token holders more inflation since it's a considerable amount of TVL. With v3, we can now be very efficient with CAKE emissions and intend to keep cutting inflation until CAKE is deflationary.


**Q. 🧉: Why has there been a long absence of farm auctions, and why did it quietly disappear from the roadmap? Additionally, why is there no regular IFOS being conducted?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** We are looking to bring farm auctions back as soon as possible. This is actually a good feature.

To address the IFO point - we are setting the bar higher for IFO candidates than we previously had. This would mean fewer IFOs than previously held, but the average quality of projects will improve. As we mentioned to the community earlier, we will be tweaking our IFO due diligence processes to ensure that better projects are introduced, as this benefits both IFO participants and CAKE locking.


**Q. 🧉:While other DEXes are rapidly expanding to new chains to acquire users, why is PancakeSwap comparatively slow in expanding, and which chain will PancakeSwap be expanding to in this quarter?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** I would not say that we are slow in acquiring users and going to new chains. 

We are currently the largest DEX on Aptos and BNB Chain, and ten days into expanding v3 into Ethereum, PancakeSwap has already broken into the top 10 DEXs by volume on Ethereum. 

As many of you would know, the Ethereum community has a long history and is the most significant blockchain by trading volume. We are also conscious of the inflationary cost on CAKE of using v2 to expand into other chains.


### Live Questions!

**Q. How will new vote or farm changes lead to burn more cake?**

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** Earlier today, we proposed a new voting proposal to decrease farm emissions, despite our aggressive expansion on Ethereum through v3. 

PancakeSwap v3 offers a tool to quickly reduce farm emissions and move towards making CAKE deflationary. By managing liquidity within a tighter range, liquidity providers can earn higher fee-earning APR compared to v2, resulting in higher capital efficiency and more CAKE earned. 

Volumes have already increased with v3. As we continue to develop on other chains, we expect to see even more trading on PancakeSwap and, subsequently, more fees and CAKE burn. As a result, we can reduce farm emissions across all chains where v3 is utilized, allowing cake holders to benefit from a decreased inflation rate.


**Q.  In the wake of the deployment in v3 and revamping, Is there any enhancement in our voting system?**

**A. Chef Bun 🐰:** Recently, there have been discussions in the PancakeSwap team about the issues with the current voting system. Some of the problems include spam proposals and reports of scams. The team is working on resolving these issues, such as by adjusting the number of people involved in the voting power system.

We're also considering moving the voting power system completely to vCAKE, which users can acquire by lock staking in the CAKE pool. Additionally, we plan to add features such as comments to encourage discussions and participation from third parties.

The team is looking to empower the voting and create a fair system that incentivizes users to lock more CAKE and participate in shaping CAKE emissions. The goal is to create a more effective and trustworthy voting system for the PancakeSwap community.

**A. Chef Mochi🧑:** I encourage any community member serious about improving PancakeSwap to reach out to me directly. You can send me a message on Telegram or Twitter, and I promise I will read it and consider any well-thought-out proposals.

At the same time, we are working on fixing and improving the voting system so that good proposals can pass through more easily. It's our goal to make the system more automated and efficient.

### **Key Features of PancakeSwapX**

#### 1\. Seamless Integration with PancakeSwap UI

PancakeSwapX is fully integrated into the existing **[PancakeSwap interface](https://pancakeswap.finance/swap)**, allowing you to continue trading without additional setup. When it locates better execution prices, it will automatically be selected as the primary source of liquidity.

#### **2\. Trade with Zero Fees at Launch**

At launch, PancakeSwapX will not charge trading fees for 150 tokens (including WETH, WBTC, USDT, USDC etc) on Ethereum and Arbitrum if your trade is routed through PancakeSwapX. If PancakeSwapX locates better execution prices, PancakeSwap will automatically route your trade there. However, if your trade isn’t routed to PancakeSwapX, standard PancakeSwap fees will apply. Be sure to verify the fee structure before confirming your trade.

**Please note** _that PancakeSwapX is not charging trading fees for specific pairs for a limited time at launch. After this period, PancakeSwapX trading fees may apply. Any future adjustments to fees will be communicated in advance._

#### **3\. Get a Better Execution Prices for Your Swaps**

PancakeSwapX aggregates liquidity from multiple sources to provide better execution prices:

- **Aggregated Liquidity:** PancakeSwapX aggregates liquidity from multiple sources, including PancakeSwap AMM pools, other DEXs, and external liquidity providers, for better execution prices.
- **Wide Range of Tokens:** PancakeSwapX supports over 150 tokens at launch (you can view the full list on UI under “manage tokens”). Even if a token isn’t available on PancakeSwap’s AMM pools, you can still trade it through PancakeSwapX.

#### **4\. Gasless Swaps – Trade with Zero Gas Fees**

Gas fees can be a significant barrier in DeFi, but PancakeSwapX eliminates this challenge with gasless swaps. Here’s how it works:

- **No Gas Fees on Failed Transactions:** With PancakeSwapX, you won’t pay gas fees on failed transactions.
- **No Need for Native Gas Tokens:** Trade seamlessly without needing the chain’s native token to cover gas fees.

With PancakeSwapX, users trade by signing and submitting off-chain orders, which external liquidity providers then fulfill by submitting on-chain transactions and covering the gas costs on their behalf. External liquidity providers build the gas costs into the swap price, allowing them to bundle multiple orders for more competitive pricing.

As a result, users don’t need to manage gas fees in native tokens or submit on-chain transactions. Additionally, failed or expired orders remain off-chain, ensuring no gas costs are incurred.

**Please note** _that users may still need to pay gas in some instances, such as when initially approving tokens and wrapping native network tokens._

#### **What does this mean for current Liquidity Providers?**

Liquidity providers on PancakeSwap AMM Pools will continue to earn trading fees and CAKE rewards. In contrast, external liquidity providers for PancakeSwapX will focus solely on trading to deliver better execution prices without receiving CAKE emissions. This ensures our liquidity providers retain unique benefits within the PancakeSwap ecosystem.

#### **Transitioning to PancakeSwapX: Retiring Market-Making Integration**

# Q4 Roadmap AMA Recap

On October 10th, we held our Q4 Roadmap AMA in the PancakeSwap kitchen! If you missed it or want to review our discussion, keep reading!

This AMA featured a different format than usual. It began with an in-depth overview of Q3 before transitioning into our exciting plans for Q4. To wrap things up, Chef Kids summarized our recent emissions proposal.

### **Let’s dive into what was discussed in the AMA!**

#### **Section 1: Q3 Overview**

**Hackathons**

One of the Q3 highlights was our participation in **two hackathons**—one at ETHGlobal Brussels and another online with Brevis. These hackathons drew much attention, with **64 innovative builds submitted and over $60,000 in prize money awarded**.

**PancakeSwap 4th anniversary**
In addition to the hackathons, we celebrated **PancakeSwap's 4th anniversary** at Token2049 with a community meetup, marking this milestone with some incredible achievements. PancakeSwap has now processed an astounding $836 billion in trading volume and has over 43 million unique wallet addresses.

**Product Launches**
The quarter also saw some important product launches, such as integrating our **Prediction product with Telegram Bot** , making it even easier for users to access DeFi on the go. We also introduced **PancakeSwap Quest** in beta, designed to boost user engagement through fun and interactive challenges. And let’s not forget the **EigenPie IFO**, our first IFO on Arbitrum, which saw over $15 million committed—a huge success as we expand across chains.

We continued expanding with **Zap**, which allows users to add liquidity with just one token. It is now available on BNB Chain, Arbitrum, and Ethereum.

**Emissions**
Over the past 12 months, **we’ve consistently maintained negative net emissions**, achieving a steady annual deflation rate of 1-2%, a key metric in maintaining the project's long-term sustainability.

#### **Section 2: Q4 Roadmap**

**PancakeSwap v4: Launching Soon**

While the launch was initially expected in Q3, additional improvements and comprehensive audits have delayed it slightly. The v4 launch will bring advanced trading tools like limit orders and TWAMM (Time-Weighted Average Market Making) and cost-saving features like Singleton and Flash Accounting. The launch is near, and more features will be added incrementally to ensure a smooth experience.

**New Trading Venue: A Game-Changer for Traders**

Details were revealed about the new trading venue that some users are already testing. The full rollout is expected in the coming weeks, and this new venue is set to enhance the trading experience and drive more volume to PancakeSwap.

**Multichain Expansion: More Chains, More Opportunities**

We remain committed to expanding to new chains, offering even more opportunities for our users, and increasing PancakeSwap’s presence across DeFi. Details will be revealed soon.

**Telegram Bot Updates: Enhancing the User Experience**

The Swap feature is being expanded to attract more retail users and improve accessibility to DeFi tools. This update will bring a more seamless and user-friendly experience, further widening PancakeSwap’s reach.

#### **Section 3: Emissions Proposal**

Chef Kids provided a concise overview of the emissions proposal, emphasizing our focus on balancing liquidity incentives with PancakeSwap's long-term sustainability. With PancakeSwap v4, developers will have new tools to enhance the platform, and traders will benefit from advanced features like limit orders and zero-slippage trades. V4 introduces dynamic fees and significant gas savings for liquidity providers, making liquidity provision more efficient and profitable.

These changes are designed to strengthen the entire PancakeSwap ecosystem, boosting trading volumes and increasing CAKE burns for greater sustainability.

**PancakeSwap Prediction Telegram  Bot**

PancakeSwap marked its fourth anniversary with an exciting new feature: launching our [first-ever Prediction Telegram Bot](https://blog.pancakeswap.finance/articles/pancake-swap-celebrates-4th-birthday-with-first-ever-prediction-telegram-bot-and-4-444-in-rewards) for BNB predictions. This innovative bot lets users make quick predictions directly through Telegram, each round lasting just 5 minutes.

**Eigenpie IFO**

In September, we launched our first-ever Initial Farm Offering (IFO) on Arbitrum, featuring EigenPie—and what an IFO it was! EigenPie, a SubDAO developed by Magpie, offers Isolated Liquid Restaking services built on the powerful infrastructure of EigenLayer.

**PancakeSwap v4: Hackathon with Brevis!**

In September, we teamed up with Brevis to host [the first-ever v4 Hookathon](https://blog.pancakeswap.finance/articles/announcing-the-v4-hookathon-pancake-swap-x-brevis-hackathon) as part of our [$500K Developer Program](https://blog.pancakeswap.finance/articles/introducing-pancake-swap-s-500-k-developer-program-and-cake-emissions-grant-program?utm_source=developerprogramtweet&utm_medium=tweet&utm_campaign=developerprogramtweet&utm_id=developerprogram). This hackathon invited developers to create innovative hooks using the Brevis ZK-Coprocessor, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in PancakeSwap v4.

With a prize pool of $40,000, participants competed to build groundbreaking solutions that enhance the platform’s functionality, such as dynamic fee structures, liquidity management tools, and exclusive-access pools. The v4 Hookathon marks another step toward the official v4 launch, showcasing the creativity and technical excellence of the developer community.

**Introducing KyberZap on PancakeSwap**

We’ve been making improvements regarding Liquidity Provisioning. We introduced the [Zap function](https://docs.pancakeswap.finance/products/pancakeswap-exchange/zap), which integrates with Kyberswap. Adding liquidity is even easier for our users right now.

With Zap, you can provide V3 liquidity using just one of the tokens from the liquidity pool—no need to manually balance pairs. Simply set your desired price range, select the amount to provide, and execute. The feature will automatically trade your tokens most efficiently to form a balanced liquidity position with minimal price impact and slippage. Currently, Zap is available with all v3 pairs on BNB Chain and 20+ selected pairs for Ethereum and Arbitrum.

**New Fiat-on ramp Provider**

[We’ve integrated with Topper](https://blog.pancakeswap.finance/articles/pancake-swap-integrates-with-topper-to-expand-crypto-access), a Web3 infrastructure provider.  With this new integration, users can now buy crypto using credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, and access a broader range of tokens like BNB, CAKE, and BTC.

To celebrate, we offered new Topper users 0% provider fees on their first purchase through PancakeSwap for a limited two-week period.
